Q. Will the Gotek7 work once I remove it from the box?
A.To view the Gotek7 you will need to download our simple software. The software is found on the CD supplied. Once you have done this you will see a Gotek7 icon on your desktop. Once you click the icon you will be asked for your Device id code, this can also be found inside the Gotek7 box. Switch your device on and you are now tracking live.
Q. Do I have to call the Gotek7 customer service to activate my device?
A. No. The Gotek7 solution allows you complete freedom.
Q. Does The Gotek7 allow me 1000 free positions, and how long will this last?
A. Yes is does. The 1000 positions could last you many months, this depends if you inform your Gotek7 to send its position every 5 seconds. You can change the interval via the panel. If you slow it down then you will find the 1000 positions last longer.
Q. What happens when my 1000 free positions have finished?
A. Simply press the TopUp button and add more location positions
Q. How do we add credit if we are situated outside the UK.
A.The TopUp Button allows you to add more positions to your panel regardless what country you live in
Q. Can I set safe zones and receive alerts to my mobile phone, also do I have to pay for these alerts?
A. You can set safe zones. You will also be informed if your Gotek7 panic button is activated. Further SMS credits can be added via the TopUp button.
Q. Can I use the software and track my Gotek7 on more than one computer?
A. Yes you can there are no restrictions.
Q. Does the Gotek7 have a warranty and if I have a problem what is the procedure?
A. The Gotek7 has a 12 month warranty. If you do have a problem then you must contact customer services, if we can not fix the problem then we will dispatch a new unit to you for next day delivery. We will also supply you with a return envelope so you may return the other unit.
Q. Does the Gotek7 have a panic function, can this be enabled and disabled from the panel?
A. Yes the panic function can be switched on/off from the panel. If the panic button is held down for four seconds the following will happen. The Gotek7 will inform the panel and the customers mobile phone that the panic has been activated. The customer will receive full address details on there mobile phone. The panel will also give an audible alert, plus a visual warning signal.
Q. How do I know when to charge the battery and can I view the battery level on the Gotek7 panel?
A. You can view the battery strength at all times on the panel. The Gotek7 automatically sends the battery strength every 30 minutes. The Gotek7 also indicates a low battery on the device via a red light under the battery indicator. You can also receive a low battery warning via SMS and email.
Q. How long does the battery last on the Gotek7?
A. The endurance of the battery depends on what interval you set your device to send
its data. Average battery life will last around 4-
Q. Is the Gotek7 waterproof?
A. Yes the Gotek7 is water resistant to standard IPX6.
Q. When the Gotek7 moves, can I view it in real time on the panel even at 5 seconds?
A. Yes you can. You also have a feature called sound on. If you then turn your speakers on, you will hear an audible sound every time the Gotek7 reports a position to the panel.
Q. Can I view more than one Gotek7 on my panel.
A. Yes you can view as many devices as you want on your panel.
Q. Will my Gotek7 work on holiday?
A. The Gotek7 will work 24/7 in most countries around the world. Please consult our customer services for more information.
Q. Can I track the Gotek7 indoors?
A. The Gotek7 has restrictions under very extreme conditions. This does not mean that it will not give you a fresh position. Any GPS device has its limitations. If you are inside a room with no windows and a solid concrete roof then the chances of obtaining a valid GPS position is very thin. The Gotek7 has a very sensitive GPS receiver, it is GPS assisted. This helps the device to obtain a fix very quickly. In general you will find the Gotek7 performs to a very high standard and it will give you fresh GPS positions in most buildings.
Q. Do I require a special mobile phone to track the Gotek7?
A. No. If you have chosen to use this extra service then any mobile phone will allow you to instantly receive the full address details. The SMS that you receive will also indicate the time of the GPS position and the battery life. Simply call the Gotek7 from your mobile, after a few rings (the Gotek7 will not make any sound) your call will be cut off and the message will be on its way to you, it's that simple.
Q. Is the Customer call centre open 24 HRS?
A. The UK customer call center is open from 8.00 am until 6.pm from Monday to Saturday. If you are outside the UK, details for this service will be displayed shortly
